MARCELLO MORANDINI

Born in Mantua on 15 May 1940, Marcello Morandini graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. After a few years of practice, he opened his own studio in Varese, where he lives, and already in 1965 a dozen of his works are exhibited in a solo exhibition in Genoa. In 1967 he participated in exhibitions in Milan, Frankfurt, Cologne and, in 1968 during the Venice Biennale, an entire hall of the Italian Pavilion was dedicated to him. Many are his architectural works, including the collaboration with the porcelain factory Thomas Rosenthal, for which he first designed the 220-meter facade of the headquarters in Speichersdorf and then the 64-meter facade of the new administrative building in Selb. In design, he collaborated with important brands such as Sawaya and Moroni, Cleto Munari[7], Abitare Baleri , Tecnodelta and he designed various collections for Rosenthal. In 2004 he was appointed Honorary Royal Designer for the Ceramic Arts of the Royal Society of Architects (RSA) in London.
