Elena Salmistraro graduated from Polytechnic University of Milan in 2008 and undertakes her carrier as a product designer immediately, opening her studio Alko_studio together with architect Angelo Stoli. Salmistraro proposes a soft, fluid and light style, inspired by both the world of art and of industrial design. Elena Salmistraro begins several collaborations with great brands in the field of design, such as Bosa, Seletti, Bitossi Home, Yoox, Okinawa, Offiseria, Texturae, and Alla's design, the last of which founded and registered by her. Her works are exposed in several occasions and events, such as Macef at Homi and Step09 in Milan, Maison&Object in Paris, The Milan Furniture Fair (Cosmit-Milan), and Stockholm furniture and light fair in Sweden. The designer took part to several exhibitions and fairs, such as “Ad Lucem – towards light” of 2013 curated by Ghigos, “The New Italian Design”, the travelling exhibition organized by Triennale in Milan, and also The New Aesthetic Design”, an exhibition held in Shanghai by Triennale. Salmistraro took part also in the project PADIGLIONEITALIA, developing the theme “Mediterranean Dysfunction”.
