Graduated in 1971 at the Politecnico of Turin, Gianni Arnaudo began his professional career in the Studio 65, where he was one of the first and biggest cooperators among 1970 and 1975. To those years belong his first expressions of a radical architecture. His cooperation with Gufram led to the creation and the exhibition of “Multipli” at EuroDomus in 1972 (Capitello, Bocca, Attica, Babilonia), which gained very soon an international fame, after exhibitions such as the “New Domestic Italian Landscape” at the MoMA of New York. Some works of this period belong today to the collections of museums such as the Denver Museum of Modern Art, the Vitra Museum of Basle, the Musée des Arts Décoratives of the Louvre, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Munich and the Centre Pompidou of Paris. He received many rewards, such as the International Architecture Award Minosse in the editions of 2004, 2006 and 2008. Among his most important cooperation there was his partnership with Poltrona Frau, for which he designed an original chair “Va Pensiero”, the sofa “You welcome” and the original design object “Déjeuner sur l’arbre”, showed at the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2005 and at the Biennale for Design of St. Etienne in 2006, and which has now been purchased by the Centre Pompidou for its permanent collection. Gianni Arnaudo is professor of “Environmental Technology” in the faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico of Turin and cooperates with Slide, Poltrona Frau, Ferrero Legno, FontanaArte, Gufram, Ma, Olivari, Lualdi.
