Carmen Ferrara is a designer and she lives and works in her hometown Milan. In 1992, after graduating in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, she joined the team of the studio of architect Marco Piva, where she gained a knowledge in the setting up of fairs and museums. In 1995 she won the Compasso d'oro award in the young designers section. She then continued her training in other companies that also deal with temporary architecture and sets for the Milanese fashion shows. Since 2002, in addition to following her passion in the field of temporary architecture, she opens her studio Idesign in Milan through which she dedicates herself to the design of lamps and begins to collaborate with important companies in the lighting sector such as Panzeri, for which besides is artistic director, Leucos, Itre and Studio Italia Design. She creates lamps with simple and linear shapes always keeping in mind the theme of sustainability dear to her. In 2015 her lamp "Carmen" designed for Panzeri is included by Class among the best 100 Italian design products and later her lamp Al Decimo receives prestigious awards as the Light Middle East Awards in Dubai, the Archiproduct Design Awards, the German Design Award, the Red Dot Award honorable mention, the Selection Adi Design Index, the Excellence of Lombardy Design Adi.
