Born in Ausburg, Bavaria in 1979, the industrial designer Bernhard Osann attended the School for Wood and Design in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and completed an apprenticeship doing small jobs as a carpenter and freelancer, before starting his design studies.
In 2005 he began studying sculpture at the Wilhelm Wagenfeld School in Bremen and later focused on industrial design attending the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, where he graduated in 2016. Since then he has been working as a freelance industrial designer in his design studio in Hamburg, mainly focusing on lighting and furnishing projects. Thanks to the design of the Neo lamp for Nemo Lighting, he won the Wallpaper Design Award in 2020. He also collaborates with the Moormann brand.
